It's a...Baby Shower!

President Diane Lowe shows off some of the great gifts being donated the CareNet Pregnancy Center

We also held our Care Net Baby Shower. Thank you, thank you to everyone who came, planned and helped make this a great party. Margie and Anna delivered the items to Care Net and they are so thankful. We found out that when the women come there they can take various classes and earn "bucks" to get items they need. They are also given a bathtub full of items they need for their newborn baby. The moms and babies will be so blessed by all of our donations.

ALA Gold Star 191’s Stitches of Love crochet group are making twiddlemuffs. They are simple-to-make knitted or crocheted hand muffs that are helping memory care patients all around the country. Twiddlemuffs are knitted or crocheted muffs with interesting beads, buttons, ribbons, pom poms and yarn attached. Many patients with Alzheimer’s, arthritis and dementia find them comforting and therapeutic as they help encourage movement and brain stimulation.

So far we have provided twiddlemuffs to several nursing homes. We enjoy making these knowing that people will get joy from using them.

Contact President Diane Lowe or member Anna Grimes if you would like more information on this project.
